When to opt for a treatment with veneers and which ones to choose?

Veneers are small pieces that, unlike crowns, cover only the front part of the tooth.
Its use and application is very versatile, which is why it allows for a customized smile design to achieve the desired result. Since they completely hide the appearance of the tooth, they are perfect for correcting imperfections such as stains or small breaks, as well as for hiding separations or disproportions between the teeth without the need for orthodontics.
There are two types according to their material: Resin and porcelain.
The resin ones do not require carving of the tooth and have a duration of between 3 and 5 years, being able to alter their color if due care is not taken. Although they are cheaper than porcelain ones, it must always be taken into account that they will require future replacements due to their lesser durability.
Porcelain ones, on the other hand, will require prior carving of the tooth and will last between 15 and 20 years. Despite assuming a greater investment, this treatment will not change its color and will remain intact for much longer.
Of course, the choice of this type of treatment never depends on a single factor, and it will be the patient's circumstances (budget, objectives, etc.) together with the opinion of a professional dentist that will mark the way forward.
And you, have you ever received a treatment with veneers? Which one did you choose and what has been your experience?
